As the Director of our Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for building our Data Engineering team and practice under the Data Platform organization. The Data Engineering team is responsible for the design, architecture, development, and implementation of a modern data stack. The Engineering Director will build and manage a high-performance team of Data Engineers and will foster a data-driven culture across the organization. You will work across Engineering, Product, Business Intelligence, and other business units to ensure the platform meets the needs of current and future products.
What you'll do:
Build and manage a team of high performing Data Engineers
Partner closely with Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Software Engineering leaders to enable data functionality across CLEAR
Own the roadmap for the Data Platform, defining requirements, priority, and driving programs to completion
Drive the migration to a modern data stack in which Analysts and Engineers can self-service changes in an automated, tested, and high-quality manner
Build data governance solutions into every part of the platform
Evangelize data and its use across CLEAR to make our decisions and products more intelligent
Define a vision for ML and AI use cases

What you're great at:
Experienced people manager with a track record of building high performing Data Engineering teams
Experience managing managers as well as senior Engineers
Experience with a modern datastack, using tools such as dbt, Dagster, Airflow, Snowflake, et cetera
Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences, manages up, down, and across
Deep experience working with Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Science, and Software Engineering Teams
Have worked with or built a data governance program
Experience with MLOps
Experience working with Product Analytics platform

The base salary range for this role is $235,000 - $265,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.
The base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEAR’s total compensation package for employees and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units
