Our Ways of Working
We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. Due to the nature of this role, we would expect someone to be onsite in our Los Angeles location 2-3 times per week to host influencers and celebrities, as well as to create social content.
We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.
What the Role Is
Babylist’s social media work is already winning awards and recognized by media . We’re doing great work and looking to do even more- especially in the areas of Instagram and partnering with influencers and celebrities. This role will lead Babylist’s upper-funnel marketing via social media to drive brand awareness. Reporting to the Senior Manager of PR & Communications, you will have an immediate impact in a highly visible and rewarding role. You will own influencer and celebrity marketing, drive UGC, develop creative social campaigns, and spearhead social growth. This is an opportunity to be creative, take risks, try new ideas, and make big things happen.
Our Social Media Manager must reside in the greater Los Angeles area, and will work 2-3 days per week from our location in Los Angeles.
Who You Are
You have at least 5-8 years of experience focused on social media management
You’ve led strategy and content for major B2C social media accounts (500k+ followers), and have a proven record driving follower and engagement growth
You have a history of building relationships and hosting celebrities and influencers, driving ROI
You have proven success in driving high quantities of social media brand mentions
You’re on top of pop culture and trends, understanding what appeals to people (and algorithms)
You’re a content creation wiz, including Reels and TikTok videos
You’re a storyteller who can captivate and engage an audience
You think outside the box
You have a knack for evaluating social media analytics and adapting strategies and tactics based on insights
Understand and love our users
You are successful at managing and optimizing a paid social media budget
How You Will Make an Impact
You will be a crucial part of ensuring Babylist is the #1 most followed brand in baby
You will identify, negotiate with, and host influencers and celebrities
You will own the strategy for encouraging and tracking user mentions on social, including social listening
You will concept and plan owned IG and TikTok campaigns to drive UGC, followers, and engagement, including giveaways, work with partners, promoting events, and more
You will develop original short-form social media videos
You will exponentially drive growth on Instagram, leading strategy and content, and support efforts across all other social channels
You’ll track and measure performance to guide strategic decisions

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area.
A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. Exact starting pay will be determined based on skills and experience as well as location. We hold two compensation reviews annually to review pay for performance and market and run an equity analysis to ensure our pay practices are fair and unbiased.
A reasonable estimate for the current range in each zone is:
Zone 1 $109,000-$157,000
Zone 2 $99,000-$143,000
Zone 3 $92,000-$134,000
These ranges may be modified in the future.
