Archer’s battery pack engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, packaging, and development of Archer’s unique Charge Port Assembly. What you’ll do:  Lead the mechanical design of Archer’s Charge Port Assembly (CPA) Package PCBA’s, busbars, & connectors in an airframe mounted enclosure Minimize the mass of the CPA Perform CAE analysis of the structural and thermal integrity of the CPA Recommend design improvements based on analysis and validation tests Interface with Archer’s airframe, wiring, ground support equipment, and battery teams Support trade studies to identify optimal mounting and integration of the CPA Participate in weekly CAD fly-thrus where you share design updates to the wider team Present a weekly status update on design progress Manage the CPA Bill of Materials (BoM) Source prototype components to assemble a CPA for lab testing Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews of the CPA Design CPA to meet SAEJ1772 standard and Archer internal requirements What you need:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering 5+ years mechanical design experience CAD proficiency utilizing Siemens NX or similar software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting Proficiency in GD&T Experience with hands on prototyping and building  Experience designing high voltage parts Experience working with high voltage components or systems Experience with a wide range of materials including steel, copper, aluminum, thermoplastic composites, potting compounds, epoxies, structural adhesives, & PCBA’s This position reports directly to the Battery Pack Sr. Engineering Manager At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $100,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
