GNC Engineer, Flight Simulation (SJ2023SF)

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What You’ll Do: Define procure and integrate components for a modular real-time flight simulator.  Implement pilot inceptor interfaces, develop models to simulate physics, sensors, actuators and digital systems.  Work with Avionics, GNC engineers, contribute to GNC system design and verification testing for e-VTOL aircraft. The GNC Engineer works with guidance, navigation, and controls in the system design, testing and manufacturing of the Company’s e-VTOL aircraft.  Will develop flight critical control software; lead on pilot-in-the-loop simulation capability used for testing and certification of flight control software; define, procure and integrate components and computer simulations for the development of a modular, real-time flight simulator; will implement pilot inceptor interfaces and develop models to simulate physics, sensors, actuators and digital systems, and will collaborate with avionics, test pilots, GNC engineers, GNC system design and verification testing to resolve simulation, flight software problems, and improve piloting experience.   What You Need:    Doctorate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related. 10 years in job offered or as Systems Architect, Real-Time Software Developer, Hardware-in-the-loop Engineer or related. Skill set in aircraft flight dynamics and the GNC process with real-time software systems development, safety flight testing and stability control, hardware and simulator building, design and development with C++, and MatWorks/MatLab with Simulink.
