We're looking for a passionate and analytically minded professional to join the Strategic Finance team. This high impact, highly visible role sits within International Finance under Affirm Canada, a scrappy, tight-knit sub-team with outsized cross-functional impact and ownership.
Strategic Finance is responsible for driving company strategy, empowering executive decision making, and guiding the company towards achieving its goals. We help set the company-wide targets, provide forecasts and real time analytics to executives and business leaders, and partner cross functionally to evaluate strategic business and product decisions.
The ideal candidate will not only have superb technical skills but also strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and present to all levels of the organization.
What You’ll Do
Drive our weekly business review and solicit feedback / updates from key stakeholders
Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts
Own and drive the financial modeling for loan volume / transaction forecasts
Prepare, update and present analysis on key KPIs and trends across our user / merchant base
Assist in the development of top-line strategy through analytics and insights
Partner with Revenue Operations to track and monitor sales performance and efficiency
Assist in the re-development of the Canadian corporate model
Assist in the annual budgeting process
Plug in to and develop relationships with our Sales, Marketing, Partnerships and Merchant/Client Success teams
Assist in the preparation of business cases & deep dives
Work with the Analytics team to drive process automation across the Finance team
Other ad-hoc requests as required
What We Look For
Passion and drive to disrupt the lending and financial industry for the better
Strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity and an ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and present to all levels of the organization
High attention to detail, but an equally important ability to see the big picture and evaluate analyses with strategic business context
5+ years of experience in an analytically-driven role (analytics, data science, investment banking, consulting, FP&A/Strategic Finance, etc.)
Working knowledge of SQL and Python
Excellent excel ability (you should be prepared for a financial model case study)
Pursuing or possession of a CPA/CFA/MBA is a plus, but not required
Technical experience/knowledge of US GAAP and loan accounting is a plus, but not required
