We are looking for a Systems Engineer with a focus on Autonomy Software to join us and drive the consistency of requirements from the system level down to the software code and back up again. This work supports the safety case being developed as we bring the Kodiak Driver to market. We first published our Safety Report in 2019 and have based our development on systems engineering, the ISO26262 process and SOTIF principles. What we are looking for: Develop use cases for new features at the system level Develop top-down requirements at the system level to satisfy use cases Capture bottoms-up requirements from our working prototypes Allocate system level requirements (for merges, lane changes, etc.) to software components, based on functional analysis and an understanding of the system architecture Author ISO 26262 artifacts (Item Definitions, HARAs, Safety and Security Analysis, FMEAs and verification reports) for software components Perform verification and validation testing for software components Support software quality in resolving issues from a systems perspective Qualifications: Experience in software requirements management, including performing functional analysis, generating, allocating and tracing requirements as well as conducting verification and validation (V&V) testing Experience with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and UL-4600 and generation of related artifacts (ID, HARA, FMEA, V&V reports) A background in software engineering or systems engineering (MS, PhD or equivalent experience) Be a systems thinker Good communication skills with a collaborative bent Ability to model system functions and behaviors Bonus points if you have: ISO 26262 Functional Safety professional certification Experience with high assurance software development processes such as DO-178C or ARP4754A Previously written software that has run on mobile autonomous robots, vehicles or aircraft Experience with model based systems engineering (MBSE) Knowledge of modern C++ and version control systems Experience with communication protocols (CAN, CANalyzer, ethernet) Experience with other Software Acceptance/Certification methods such as GMP and MIL-STD-498. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
