All positions, unless otherwise specified, can be performed remotely (within the US and Canada) regardless of any specified location above.  About the Role We are hiring an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale our Mobile Experiences team within the Location Experiences group. These teams directly build and support many of Life360's highest-impact, most widely used app experiences while also creating frameworks that enable other teams across the company to contribute seamlessly. This role is ideal for a strategic, technically grounded, user-obsessed leader who will shape the future of our application experience. You’ll ensure seamless interactions across map, content sheets, focus modes, notifications, and other primary surfaces, while enabling new partner strategies and integrated experiences. The leader will be key in working towards an intelligent and personalized experience to make interactions more relevant, engaging, and valuable for every family. You’ll be accountable for creating the conditions that allow teams to autonomously deliver polished, scalable experiences that delight millions of users. ​​ For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $166,500 to $245,000 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is $195,500 to $230,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. What You’ll Do Lead strong mobile engineering teams, partnering closely with senior staff engineers to drive cross-functional projects Drive strategy and execution for core app surfaces while building frameworks that enable company-wide contributions Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to guide and execute on the long-term direction of the Life360 application experience Champion a culture of user obsessiveness, ensuring delivery of experiences that are intuitive, polished, and impactful Balance near-term delivery of high-value features that iteratively work towards longer-term strategic initiatives Drive operational excellence across systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and observability Build an engineering culture focused on high standards, rapid iteration, and delivering measurable member value What We’re Looking For Proven track record building polished, high-quality consumer-facing mobile applications at scale Experience shipping frameworks that enable other teams to contribute seamlessly Ability to blend technical design with product thinking, collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering to prioritize member value and deliver cohesive experiences Experience using metrics to guide iteration, with a background in personalization or intelligent systems that enhance user-facing features Strong leadership skills in building efficient, self-motivated teams that focus on outcomes and impact Familiarity with the latest advancements in mobile and cloud technologies 3+ years of engineering management (multiple teams) and 7+ years of hands-on mobile software development Excellent communication and influence skills, with proven ability to lead in a remote-first environment Bonus Expertise in geo-aware, location-based, or mapping applications, with a focus on creating intuitive and seamless user interactions at scale Experience applying AI or personalization in consumer-facing applications to create intelligent, adaptive user experiences Experience enabling external partners or white-label solutions, building frameworks or platforms that support extensibility beyond internal teams Demonstrated success in building and scaling server-driven UI systems or widely adopted, flexible UX frameworks Background leading initiatives that bridge mobile and cloud engineering, ensuring cohesive strategy and execution across domains Our Benefits Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans (100% paid for US employees).
