In this field-based role you will be responsible for driving growth of our oncology product portfolio across Spain and Portugal, partnering with both clinical and research accounts as well as channel partners.You will serve as a trusted advisor and technical product expert, guiding customers through complex solutions in molecular diagnostics, translational research, and clinical oncology. Working in close collaboration with Account Managers, channel partners, and cross-functional colleagues, you will support strategic account development, influence key stakeholders, and accelerate adoption of Illumina’s cutting-edge oncology solutions.This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer by empowering clinicians, researchers, and healthcare providers with the tools they need to advance precision medicine.LocationThis is a field-based position covering Spain and Portugal. Travel is expected to be ~60% within the region, with occasional attendance at European events.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Oncology Sales Specialist, you will:Drive Market Growth: Achieve and exceed sales objectives for Illumina’s oncology portfolio by winning new accounts, expanding existing relationships, and positioning Illumina as the partner of choice.Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a territory business plan with clear objectives.Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with oncologists, molecular pathologists, laboratory directors, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to promote Illumina’s oncology solutions.Sales Collaboration: Partner with Account Managers and Channel Partners to identify opportunities, qualify leads, and close sales.Technical Expertise: Present complex oncology workflows (NGS, liquid biopsy, companion diagnostics, biomarkers, etc.) with confidence to both clinical and research audiences.Training & Enablement: Educate and support Account Managers, Sales Specialists, Channel Partners, and customers with resources, commercialization plans, and product updates.
