ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Material Analyst will provide off shift coverage for the Material Planning department. Tasks will require performing detailed requirements analysis, pulling data from multiple sources, and performing risk assessment. The Senior Analyst will exercise judgement within defined processes to determine appropriate actions to support production. The candidate for this role must have strong knowledge of MRP systems and MRP logic. The Senior Analyst must be able to identify and create processes and procedures. The opening is located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to the Material Planning Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides coverage for first and second shift materials planning during night shift hours
Attends meetings, creates reports, and provides updates on potential risks and known critical parts issues
Ability to gather information from peers for reporting purposes
Provides daily team pass down at end of shift
Ability to report out clearly and precisely in leadership or program meetings as required
Review and provide guidance of initial escalation to Material Analyst
Interfaces with logistics, material handling, warehousing, purchasing, supplier quality, suppliers, and other internal and external groups
Work supplier releases and shortage reports to identify and correct potential risks
Monitors critical part shipments and deliveries
Executes the material inventory processes as they relate to Material Requirements Planning
Leads and maintains assigned analytics projects and reporting
Inputs and adheres to the department annual business plan
Supports planned and unplanned absence coverage of other team members as necessary
Cross-functionally train planning for other shops
Visit customer locations & plants during major milestone events to support other teams as required
Works and builds relationships with multiple suppliers
Ensures consistent availability of material for production by forecasting adequate volumes that align with the build plan and budget
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or other related fields highly preferred or 3-5 years of applicable experience
Experience with Materials Requirement Planning “MRP” Software such as SAP required
Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook programs
Ability to set tasks and responsibilities
Ability to meet deadlines and stay within budget
Creative problem-solving skills
Strong team orientation and cross functional attitude
Ability and willingness to train and lead others
Overall understanding of purchasing practices, logistics flow, and warehousing of inventories
Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment

The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
In the performance of the duties of this job the employee is required to travel, drive a motor vehicle, communicate using telephone and e-mail.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to withstand exposure to solvents, fumes, heat, and odors normally associated with paint application.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Internal candidates interested in this position are required to have spent 6 months in their current position before moving onto another team.
