Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.  ROLE SUMMARY The NPI Project Lead is responsible for managing the material readiness to commence pre series or variant production builds. In this role within NPI, you will collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, operations, manufacturing engineering and Launch to ensure the readiness status for a given vehicle project. You shall be focused on ensuring the data sets within our ERP and MES systems can support the commencing of manufacturing and that our materials status is clear and prepared for launch.   You will collate the NPI status for a specific project and lead that project through to series production providing clear and concise communication in regard to status executing the transition from Rivian’s Launch-Pad platform to our series production tool sets. The opening is located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to the NPI Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES The role will require the need to verify data flows, from PLM to ERP (SAP) and ERP to MES, are correct and represent the intent of the project content.    You will need to be able to articulate MBOM and OBOM readiness and highlight systematic gaps preventing launch team from executing the agreed build plan.      You will collate a broad spectrum of data points and cohesively communicate what that means to the project, you shall be required to be able to react to program change and to identify systematic impacts for consideration and effectively manage change once direction is committed    In addition to the Indirect management of NPI change managers, analysts, and technicians the following responsibilities are expected:  MBOM Validation & approval (Confirm we have 100 % of the parts released and structured correctly in the SAP MBOM)  Provide a consolidated Parts/subsystem availability status for launches down to lineside readiness Understand Change Content is captured specific to the program   Ensure 100% of project related MCAs are processed and resolve roadblocks All change management check lists are complete, and the build is clear to launch Material Effectivities are accurate in line with the launch plan  Verify safe change introduction for all mid-build changes  Work closely with the launch team and the vehicle line management team to execute the build Continuously monitor MCA status    Ensure that OBOM management is in place    QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Supply Chain or Program Management required 5+ Yrs Experience in an Automotive NPI environment    Experience with Engineering Design Changes, Manufacturing process and Supply Chain in a relevant field     Experience with Materials Requirement Planning “MRP” software such as SAP Intermediate or above knowledge in Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook programs Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively   Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities   Creative problem-solving skills   Strong team orientation and cross functional attitude   Knowledge of systems interface between Enterprise Resource Planning “ERP” and Manufacturing Execution Systems “MES” preferred   Ability to create and present summary reports Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.   Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
