Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.  Role Summary This position will be responsible for the oversight and direction of all Outbound Logistics ad-hoc activities, including the prompt fulfilling of internal stakeholders’ requests to ship Rivian non-production vehicles throughout North America and globally via truck, ocean or air methods.  The role will also include oversight of freight payment activities, transportation claims management and EDI onboarding.  The ideal candidate will be familiar with auto haul away operations, port operations and the associated freight handlers, as well as freight forwarding companies and trade compliance duties. Responsibilities Manage a team to execute ad hoc finished vehicle shipments, i.e. engineering vehicles, marketing events, etc., as well as ad hoc finished vehicle projects Hire, coach, mentor and develop staff Create structure for existing processes and policies Develop KPI’s and operating metrics, and achieve targets Manage test loads and securement methods Own and execute vendor invoicing and payment activities Own and manage damage and claims procedures Coordinate EDI vendor onboarding Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members Provide a customer-oriented approach to support internal customers Be a hands-on leader with the ability to train employees and pitch in as needed Remain flexible in the scope of work that is required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field 6+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering or related, finished vehicle distribution experience a plus Must have at least one year of direct leadership experience Six Sigma experience and understanding Process oriented - uses a methodical approach to problem solving Hands-on experience working with SAP, Transportation Management System (TMS), and/or finished vehicle yard management systems preferred Advanced skills in MS Excel – ability to create pivot tables and charts, use of short cuts, and VLOOKUP functionality – SQL a plus Comfortable using process mapping tools Equal Opportunity Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
