As an Associate Buyer (Temporary) at Babylist, you'll support the buying team in executing category strategies and managing day-to-day operations. You'll help maintain supplier relationships, assist with vendor onboarding and negotiations, and ensure product and pricing accuracy across systems. Working cross-functionally with Inventory Management, Operations, and Site Merchandising, you'll contribute to assortment planning, support promotional strategies, and help keep our product catalog organized and aligned with business goals.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role designed to keep operations running smoothly while you gain exposure to the full buying lifecycle.
This is a temporary position providing coverage for parental leave, with an expected duration of 4-6 months.
Who You Are
You have 3-4 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or category management, ideally in e-commerce
You're highly organized with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
You're comfortable analyzing data, pulling reports, and translating insights into actionable recommendations
You communicate effectively across teams and build productive relationships with external vendors
You thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt quickly to changing priorities
You're excited by consumer products, innovation, trends, and the art of merchandising
How You Will Make an Impact
Manage product setup, item creation, and assortment updates across systems with precision
Serve as a key point of contact for vendor communication and relationship management
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate product information and availability across all channels
Monitor category performance, inventory levels, and key metrics through regular reporting and analysis
Research market trends, new products, and competitive assortments to inform category planning decisions
Support smooth execution of day-to-day operations while gaining hands-on experience with vendor negotiations and strategic assortment planning
Stay ahead of emerging trends through data analysis and vendor partnerships

Babylist follows a market-based approach to compensation, with pay varying based on location, experience, and qualifications. In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the hourly pay range for this role is $42.00 to $48.00 per hour , representing the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this position.
Your starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on your skills, experience, and work location.
