Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.  Role Summary: As a Business Development Lead you will be responsible for creating the digital ecosystem of strategic partners, products and services that enhance both our commercial and consumer platforms. This role will foster innovation and growth across the entire value chain including telematics, connectivity, infotainment, mapping, energy management, driver safety, compliance and more. You will negotiate first of kind agreements in the global automotive market that will help accelerate Rivian’s transition to a more sustainable and profitable future. Responsibilities Be the subject matter expert on global automotive trends and new business models that create a robust business development pipeline across telematics, connectivity, infotainment, mapping, energy management, driver safety, compliance and more. Develop strategies that contribute to new sales, increasing revenues and for building long-lasting business relationships. Ability to prioritize and execute; liaise with partners to solve issues, communicate needs, and create synergy. Help identify, characterize, and drive strategic digital partnerships. Recommend build, buy, partner outcomes; this includes adjacencies to areas we complete in that can be good partners. Build the brand and the business, across Rivian and outside the company. Negotiate business terms, contracts, and pricing; conceptualize new strategic ideas and ways to structure deals. Support ongoing account management and development of existing partners. Responsible for gathering, and translating, voice of customer feedback into business requirements that drive future functionality and roadmap development. Partner cross-functionally with vehicle software, vehicle engineering, digital technology, legal, finance and procurementteams; use guidance to pursue development of new partnerships. Support and champion new projects and complex investigations; be a dynamic team player. Stay abreast of industry news and events.  Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position. Qualifications 7+ years of professional experience, with emphasis on sales, business development, strategy, corporate development, or partnership. Proven software/digital-based partnership building experience,including executed deals Domain expertise and established relationships in automotive, cloud, telematics, connectivity and IoT deployments. Experience with various automotive data sets, protocols and systems (i.e. CAN/OBD/PID, API/SDK) Proven track record in establishing strategic partnerships, closing complex deals and managing key accounts for revenue growth. Clear communicator who can deliver findings in an engaging and impactful manner; cut through complexities to tell a simple story. Analytical mindset with the ability to weave together multiple data sources and produce recommendations to complex business problems. Experience managing an engagement funnel, including definition and execution of an engagement and relationship strategy. Experience as the business lead in complex contract negotiations. Experience managing complex partner and customer relationships. Experience driving cross-functional alignment across diverse internal stakeholders and business/product leads. Result-driven, calculated thinking individual with a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit. Comfort with high levels of ambiguity, complexity, and open-ended questions. Self-directed and high-energy. Pragmatic and positive attitude. Ability to travel, as needed. Prior experience in a start-up environment. Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred Travel up to 30% nationally Salary Range for California or Washington-Based Applicants: $150,000 – $173,000/yr (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Salary Range for Colorado-Based Applicants: $144,000 – $166,000/yr (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Salary Range for New York-Based Applicants: $163,000 – $188,000/yr (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Benefits Summary:  Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
