Role Summary
You will lead the team that is the technical glue and driving force behind development activities crucial to the success of complex electromechanical systems. Core responsibilities include integration and bringing up new systems as well as ongoing test systems development, systems characterization, product performance improvement, and dynamic collaboration with hardware, modeling, controls, and software engineers.
Responsibilities
Join a cross functional team with the mission of developing a new light electric vehicle product line
Lead activities to define electrical hardware and software enabled customer experience features and requirements
Progress product requirements to methodically documented subsystem technical requirements, system block diagrams, and software functions
Work intimately with hardware design, controls, software and test engineering peers to achieve world class product results
Own both the upper left and upper right of the V diagram product development process as necessitated by the phase of the project (system design vs system level validation)
Document and maintain requirements and validation status in requirements database tool
Collaborate with software engineering to construct and maintain high level software functional descriptions and state diagrams
Be the point of contact between own team and other systems, EE, software functions within Rivian to achieve collaboration and efficiencies across the company
Directly responsible individual for EE related FMEA, FUSA, etc
Build and maintain KPI / attribute scorecards throughout the design, test, development process
Qualifications
7+ year track record of electrical engineering accomplishments, curiosity, continual learning and “system level” thinking
Excellent collaboration, communication and influencing skills – this is a highly collaborative role
Experience working in small to medium size organizations that provided exposure to a broad set of challenges across both EE hardware and software domains
Broad knowledge base of common analog and digital EE systems, low to medium voltage, WiFi, LTE connectivity, low cost MCU platforms, sensors, control theory and embedded software
Some experience/familiarity with typical EE design and analysis tools such as schematic capture, PCBA layout, modeling and simulation tools such as SysML, Matlab, Simulink
Experience with control algorithm, embedded software and general software architecture design and development process
Knowledge of EMI, EMC, electrical safety and regulatory requirements for products in this class
Accomplishments in taking new products through mass production launch
Formal electrical engineering education, B.S. minimum, higher preferred
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $184,000.00 - $211,000.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
