You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop test plans to stress key performance indicators of BMS software requirements. This position will be a hands on role where you will be in the lab preparing your test setups. The opening is located at our Irvine, California facility and reports directly to the Manager of Battery Testing. RESPONSIBILITIES: Own the execution of BMS tests in Rivian Define test methods to stress key performance indicators of BMS software requirements. Develop test plans that define instrumentation, fixturing, test environment, etc. Design lab assemblies and equipment for optimizing test efficiency Secure required instrumentation and equipment for various algorithm verification and BMS regression tests Perform regression tests on subsystem and system level test assets Report back test progress in Jira ticketing system Coordinate efforts with BMS algorithms, systems, and electrical hardware teams QUALIFICATIONS: 4-year degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or closely related subject and minimum 2 years automotive experience in related field Demonstrated knowledge of regression tests for BMS algorithms and functionality (SOC/SOP/SOE estimation, drive profile vehicle model correlation) and equipment preferred Demonstrated knowledge of automated battery test equipment, test methods, and test specifications (UN38.3, GBT, etc.) preferred Experience working with high voltage systems Experience with lab instruments: DMM, oscilloscope, HIL Familiarity with CANalyzer, CANape High energy and self-motivated 10% Domestic and/or International Travel Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: [$121,000-$139,000] (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).   Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
