Role Summary:
In this position, you will lead process and tool development teams within Rivian's Product Development Organization. Within this role you and you team will be the business owner of enterprise engineering applications, responsible for developing business requirements and technical solutions for PLM with the Enterprise Technology team. To deliver this you must be able to zoom out and think critically, taking a small team with you. Additionally you will be responsible for all continuous improvement on Operational Engineering processes such as the Product Development Process, Change Management, Cost and mass attack processes etc. To excel at this you will have to be able to navigate very technical IT discussions, Strategic technology roadmaps, Enterprise deployment plans & Team development.
Responsibilities:
You must be able to both individually and lead teams which drive the following activities:
Collaborate across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and quality to define & deliver standard business practices and solutions for production development processes and data including, but not limited to - Change management - Issue management - Program timing and reporting - Product documentation and release - Product Design in PLM - Product Validation, both virtual and physical - Sourcing and industrialization of supply chain - Vehicle launch and manufacturing bring up activities - Rivian Product Development Process
Leverage Product Management approaches to develop a vision for a set of critical Product Development processes and associated tools required to develop our products with agility - Stakeholder and user group identification and research for user needs and pain points - Facilitate & manage the trade-off decisions between Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, & Quality - Be an advocate for change in the organization and drive adoption of product development tools and processes - Determine how to measure the process effectiveness, and manage continuous improvement workstreams. - Align leadership and other key stakeholders around the process - Partner with the Vehicle Line and Launch teams to maximize effectiveness of all processes and tools required to deliver amazing vehicles on time - Lead the development of Rivian Development Process 2.0 alongside a small team
Collaborate with internal Product Data and Configuration Management Teams to execute programs
Collaborate with internal Data Science team to ensure correct interpretations of process and data is housed within Business Intelligence tool sets
Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in product development, product or program management, engineering, supply chain, or vehicle operations.
Extensive experience with process development around PLM activities
Understanding of configuration management, release processes & part level data
Hands on experience delivering products from concept to production
BS in Engineering, or similar technical degree preferred, BS in Business acceptable
Hands on, open minded attitude
Adventurous and curious mindset
Have a passion for data and the insights we can gleam from great data
Salary Range California-Based Applicants: $211,000 -$244,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
