Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.  ROLE SUMMARY The EHS Technician interfaces with operations, maintenance, and others daily to grow our safety culture and ensure compliance with federal, regional, and local standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of business acumen, professionalism, practicality, and confidence to learn and grow within the department. To be successful in this role, you must be self-driven and have a thirst for customer service, and embed yourself into the inner workings of the factory floor. RESPONSIBILITIES EHS Technician will be dedicated to 1-2 departments but may cover additional departments if on the 2nd or 3rd shift. Executes tasks for work-plan implementation (i.e., issues locks, installs ergo matting, places signs, etc. Performs regulatory inspections/checks in Benchmark as assigned Provides training to others within their skillset Generate daily EHS messages as assigned and distributed to Team/Group Leaders to cover at start-up meetings Responds to events as they occur and act to their level of training Escalates issues/events as necessary for appropriate action to be taken Attends start of shift meetings Facilitates EHS team meetings, trainings and other meetings/walks as needed Take on task-based work such as hot work permitting, signage placement, inventories, etc. and requires some direction May participate in a working group Serve as a consistent resource to all employees Complete work demand analysis for assigned work areas Perform qualitative IH (Industrial Hygiene) sampling as assigned by Industrial Hygienist  Serve on 3RT (advanced response) Participate on safety committees Troubleshoot alarm conditions Inspect and test fire systems Coordinate/execute fire system service QUALIFICATIONS Between 1-3 years of relevant site safety experience Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and administrative skills Detail oriented team player Creative and innovative thinking Accountability and dependability Possess ethics and integrity Ability to work with minimal supervision Adept at collecting and maintaining health, safety and environmental data Ability to build productive relationships with all levels of management Highly proficient communicator, both written and verbal Possess technical knowledge of health, safety and environmental topics Basic typing skills, and savvy with Microsoft Suite products. Experience with Smartsheets, Lucidcharts and Benchmark software a plus. GED or High School Diploma preferred, Associates or Bachelors Degree highly preferred Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day. Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds. Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather.
