Role Summary
As a Senior Accountant, you will ensure accurate cost of goods sold and inventory valuation for all operation accounting sites. You will proactively implement solutions to ensure solid manufacturing processes and internal controls are in place.
Responsibilities
Performing monthly close activities related to COGS, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of COGS accounting
Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as operations, supply chain, engineering, and sales to ensure accurate and timely COGS reporting
Ability to prepare and review inventory reports, journal entries, and financial statements
Ability to analyze and reconcile inventory transactions, variances, and discrepancies
Experience in developing and maintaining standard costing systems, overhead allocation methods, and inventory reconciliation processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, such as managers, auditors, and business partners
Investigate manufacturing cost variances and implement robust process solutions to eliminate recurring variances across our manufacturing sites
Ensure inventory is properly stated, internal controls are adequate, and implement process improvements where needed
Support Physical Inventory (PI) count processes
Assists the Operational Controller with special projects as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, with a concentration in Accounting, required
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/CPA Eligibility or a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred but not required
5+ years of corporate accounting work experience
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines
Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
Strong oral/written communication skills
Ability to be adaptable to change
Constant desire to learn and challenge others to find the best solution
High level of proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems; experience with SAP is a requirement
