Financial Analyst, Product Development

Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.  Role Summary:   As a Financial Analyst, Product Development, you'll lead the management of financials for the R1 Program. A successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to drive cost to affordable targets, build strong relationships with technical leaders, and be self-motivated to set solid financial foundations for future Rivian products.   Responsibilities:   Support all aspects of profitability including BOM cost, investment, resourcing, revenue, and other unit costs Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners including program, strategy, engineering, and purchasing to drive towards program profitability targets   Lead monthly forecast and annual budget process for R1 program and other advanced vehicles. Responsibilities include creating timelines for deliverables; communicating processes and timelines to business and finance partners and ensuring timelines are met; understanding all P&L line items, drivers of financial performance and communicating results and issues to management; preparing financial statements and presentations for Rivian management.  Provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made; and ensuring reports are accurate and distributed in a timely manner   Manage and support month end close process, timely and complete reporting in line with Corporate Accounting policies and guidelines Define & refine KPIs that explain business performance, create dashboards to track performance of KPIs over time (e.g. PowerBI) Transform data into actionable insights and recommendations. Evaluate current processes and tools to drive efficiencies and value-added enhancements Effectively support the financial forecast and analysis of headcount and operating budgets, including supporting the development and communication of expense forecasts to leadership and to internal finance business partners Execute on ad hoc analysis to support leadership decision making process; transform data into actionable insights and recommendations   Qualifications:   2-3 years of work experience planning and forecasting experience, within the energy industry a plus   Proven analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills Proven ability to develop effective business partner relationships Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to interact with various management levels General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles and theories Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing and fast paced environment Proven experience budgeting, planning, forecasting, closing and reconciling operating expenditures Strong organizational skills reflecting prioritization with a sense of urgency Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill with the ability to process data from multiple sources and build models from the ground up Ability to effectively articulate financial stories in a clear and concise manner Proven ability developing and improving processes to make reporting better, faster and easier Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required, experience with Adaptive Insights and SAP a plus Bachelor’s degree (MBA/CPA a plus) in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred   Salary Range Salary range for Irvine, CA based applicants: $76,000 - $88,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law) Benefits Summary Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
