Job Requisition ID #25WD91231Position OverviewAs a 2026 Software Engineering Intern, you will gain real-world experience working as part of a specialized team focused on the numerical modeling of plastic injection molding. The Autodesk Moldflow product is a world-leading injection molding simulation tool used by plastic part designers and mold engineers across various industries, including automotive, medical, and high-value consumer products.As an intern working on software development at Autodesk, you will collaborate with a team of researchers and software engineers to use GPUs for accelerating numerical solver calculations that power the simulation of plastic injection molding. The goal is to improve and refine the existing framework so that parallelization will provide a concrete reduction in solution time.Responsibilities:Design and implement testable, readable, and production-quality codeEvaluate the use of general-purpose GPU programming to reduce solution time for existing algorithms while maintaining numerical accuracyImplement programs that fit the general-purpose GPU programming paradigmParticipate in team meetings and practice an Agile development mindset throughout the software development lifecycleMinimum QualificationsEnrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math, or a similar field at an accredited university in AustraliaCompleted coursework or projects using C++ or a similar programming languageProgramming experience in a Windows, Mac OS, or Linux environmentKnowledge of computer science subjects, especially object-oriented programming, data structures, and parallel programmingAbility to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExpected to complete your degree by the end of 2026 and looking to gain professional experience to start a career in software developmentInternship Period: January – December 2026 (12 months, full-time)Preferred QualificationsExperience building applications involving parallel programming or general-purpose GPU programmingFamiliarity with programming models for general computing on GPUs, such as CUDA, OpenCL, or HIPLearning BenefitsGain experience with Agile (scrum) software development lifecycle through daily workGain exposure to parallel programming and numerical simulationAcquire hands-on experience in software development and validation of accuracyWork in a collaborative environment with a high-performing teamHone coding, problem-solving, and communication skills#LI-AA1Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
