Job Description: Senior Data EngineerLocation: 100% RemoteEmployment Type: Full-timeDepartment: Infrastructure and Platform ServicesAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize the data infrastructure that powers our Near Real Time Processing. You will play a key role in developing scalable data systems, mentoring junior engineers, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data.ResponsibilitiesData Architecture & DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.Build robust data models and warehouses to support analytics and reporting.Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and governance frameworks.Collaboration & LeadershipWork closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to ensure smooth data flow across systems.Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to best practices.Partner with product and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into solutions.Performance & OptimizationOptimize database queries and data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.Ensure high availability and reliability of data infrastructure.Stay up to date with emerging data engineering technologies and evaluate their applicability.QualificationsRequired:5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related field.Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling.Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data stacks (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, etc.).Hands-on experience with distributed data systems (Spark, Kafka, Flink, or similar).Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.Preferred:Background in building data platforms at scale.Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).Exposure to machine learning workflows and MLOps practices.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD): $105,500 - $150,700 - $195,900Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.Benefits Overview1.
