The Editorial Design Platform (EDP) builds the infrastructure and tools that power Spotify’s design systems, visual merchandising, editorial experiences, and localization workflows. Through innovative tooling, inspiring design, and authentic localization, EDP empowers teams to tell impactful stories at scale. We connect users to global culture while supporting features that inspire and delight. As the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the development of foundational products used across Spotify. Your focus will be on building scalable platform technologies, evolving design systems, and integrating AI-driven features that enhance creative and editorial workflows. What You’ll Do Define and drive engineering strategy in the Design System space, including the Spotify Design System and our teams AI initiatives. Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers across Spotify to deliver impactful solutions and increase adoption of the platform. Champion the adoption of AI and ML in design and editorial tooling. Enhancing quality, reducing time to market, and improving user experiences. Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, fostering strong collaboration with teams across Spotify’s R&D organization. Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team, creating a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Ensure engineering best practices and maintain the long-term health, scalability, and reliability of the platform. Who You Are A seasoned engineering leader with a passion for design, technology, and storytelling. Experienced in managing diverse, high-impact engineering teams, with a strong track record of coaching and talent development. Deeply knowledgeable about modern web technologies and design systems, with hands-on experience leveraging AI/ML in creative or editorial tooling. Comfortable balancing short-term product goals with long-term platform strategy and architecture. An effective communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical audiences, especially across design, product, and engineering stakeholders. Where You'll Be This role is based in London.
