You'll be the data science lead on a nimble cross-functional squad, working alongside Product, Sales, and Engineering to shape the future of ads on Discord. We're looking for Data Scientists to join our GTM team and our Ads Product team. This role reports to the Director of Data Science, Analytics for Ads. What you'll be doing
Lead data science strategy and execution on our ads product or GTM squad, partnering directly with PM, Sales, and Engineering leadership
Build the analytical foundation for Discord's next-generation ad products using our rich first-party data from 200M+ monthly active users, combined with strategic third-party partnerships
Collaborate with product and sales teams to develop learning agendas, experimentation plans, and solutions that drive product-market-fit and advertiser performance
Lead cross-functional data projects to deepen our understanding of users, communities, and advertiser performance that directly inform better ad products
Build plans to evaluate product or vertical performance, run experimentation, identify improvement opportunities, and share these learnings with cross-functional peers and executives
Apply 80/20 thinking to prioritize the highest-impact initiatives while championing user privacy and data governance standards across the company
What you should have
5+ years of data science experience in ads tech, with preference for gaming, social media, or community platforms
Deep understanding of the ads tech ecosystem , including auction-based delivery systems, real-time bidding, audience data integrations, and data partners.
4+ years of experience building performant dashboards using Looker, or similar software with proficiency in designing intuitive visualizations
4+ years experience writing excellent SQL with proficiency in big data platforms
Experimentation expertise : 3+ years designing, running, and analyzing A/B tests for large-scale consumer products
Visualization and Dashboards : Proven experience building executive-level dashboards and reports using Looker, Tableau, or similar tools
Cross-functional collaboration : Track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and advertiser performance
Strong Communication skills : Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both technical and business stakeholders
Attribution and measurement: Experience with incrementality testing, multi-touch attribution, and campaign effectiveness measurement in privacy-first environments
Experience working with first-party and third-party data , as well as attribution partners
Curiosity and collaboration : You thrive in ambiguous environments and love solving complex problems with amazing teammates

Discord passion : You're an active Discord user or have deep knowledge of gaming and creator communities
Privacy-first measurement : Background in privacy-preserving technologies and ethical advertising practices
Leadership experience : Background mentoring junior data scientists or leading technical initiatives
Sales partnership : Direct experience translating technical capabilities into compelling sales narratives
Experience with analytics for social media, gaming platforms, or community-driven products, including familiarity with social graphs, community dynamics, and user-lifecycle analysis
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $196,000 to $220,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
