Import / Export Compliance SpecialistDescription -Key requirements include, but not limited to:Strong understanding of US Import/Export compliance regulations. Covering, but not limited to, country of origin, preferential trade agreements, HTS classifications, valuation, duty drawback and other trade program eligibility.Ability to independently strategize, plan and execute on trade compliance related topics.Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, develop recommendations, and execute on recommendations.Actively drives activities that ensures the integration of trade controls into functional work streams to deliver compliance objectives and mitigate risk for HP.Support internal and external audit commitments including assessments, requests for information, process enhancements, and corrective actions.Actively participates and ensures the regulatory framework for HP is favorable with government authorities in accordance with Global Customs/Global Trade regulations and recommendationsLocation: Houston, TXEducation and Experience Required:5+ years of experience working in and establishing import/export compliance systems with international responsibilities.Expert understanding of U.S. trade regulations and government systems (ACE/AES/ITACS, etc.)Strong understanding of NA Customs Import & Export Compliance regimesGood relationships with US customs authorities and industry associationsPreferred Licensed Customs BrokerExperience with FTZ, Bonded Warehouse, First Sale and Duty Drawback programs a PLUSAptitude and Skills:Adaptable to accept and promote HP's culture, processes, tools and systems.Preferred analytical and data modeling skills.Strong communication skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.The base pay range for this role is $59 200 up to $87,650 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).
