A Senior Developer Analytics Manager at Discord plays a pivotal role in assisting game developers to effectively utilize Discord's suite of developer tools (Social SDK, Collectibles, Activities, and Premium Support). You will be responsible for defining and building our developer analytics and optimization strategy from 0-1 - a significant opportunity to shape Discord's approach to developer success. The primary objectives are to enhance both developer success - through drivers like improved player engagement and retention - and Discord user growth and monetization. This position is ideal for senior-level professionals who are passionate about data analysis, game economies, live operations, monetization strategies, and strategic problem-solving within the games industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine senior-level analytical skills with games industry expertise within a team that directly engages in high-level business development and execution. It is well-suited for experienced professionals seeking to build foundational analytical capabilities within the rapidly evolving mobile gaming industry, with the significant opportunity to create our developer analytics strategy from scratch. Key Responsibilities Analytics Strategy Development: Define and build Discord's developer analytics and optimization strategy from the ground up. This greenfield opportunity allows you to establish the analytical frameworks that will guide developer success. Data Analysis and Execution: Analyze and support gaming accounts with Developer Solutions sales. Monitor and interpret key performance indicators to ensure Developer success and user growth. Watch for outliers and act on them. Business Development Support: Serve as a customer to Sales Enablement and Data Science in the building of quality client-facing materials such as partnership decks, one-sheets, case studies, and presentations to aid in business development efforts. Strategic Planning: Formulate strategies for a portfolio of developers to maximize value of activating use of Discord's tools, leveraging your games industry experience in live operations and monetization. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and leaders to inform roadmap decisions, implement improvements or adjustments, and ensure successful customer partnerships.  Requirements Senior-Level Experience: 7+ years of meaningful experience as a senior analytical lead with demonstrated impact and leadership within analytical roles. Gaming Industry Experience: Background in data analysis within a game studio or game ecosystem provider, specifically with hands-on experience in live operations and monetization analytics. Technical Proficiency: Advanced SQL and data manipulation skills are essential for complex data analysis tasks. Strong analytical capabilities for building optimization strategies. Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail in all aspects of work, with proven ability to identify patterns and optimization opportunities. Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with both external clients and internal teams. Strong cross-functional collaboration abilities. Extra Credit Qualifications Multilingual Abilities: Proficiency in other languages is advantageous (Chinese, etc). Technical Skills: Ability to read code, which is beneficial for SDK integrations. Game Tech Knowledge: Familiarity with game engines, platforms and development tools. Advanced Analytics: Experience with predictive modeling or advanced statistical techniques applied to games analytics. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $225,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
