We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.As a Capacity Engineer in the APAC Capacity team, you will be joining a growing department of the business going through an important and integral period of change and play an increasingly important role for Equinix particularly for our operations teams and customer base.The Capacity Engineer, Senior Associate will use their strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to match an engineering mindset to triage, escalate, assess or carry out key responsibilities around customer deployments within our data centers across APAC.Key responsibilities:Accepting and processing requests for Hub (FIFO method), escalating advanced or complex requests to senior members as necessaryActively participate and contribute within meetings with internal stakeholders such as our Operations Engineers and Sales EngineersDevelop process designs for deployments and seeks to directly resolves issues where possible, or escalate to relevant colleagues as requiredMay work on more complex/large, proposed designs with Manager or Senior Engineers within the capacity teamDevelops solutions for sales opportunities seeking input from relevant parties or places, including intranet, Hub Lead or colleaguesEnsures cooling support support through airflow calculations or escalating for CFD modelling as necessaryEnsure power support (including circuit management) through infrastructure checksEscalating HPD deployment where necessaryEnsuring design fit within our data centers, and triage or escalate concerns where adverse impacts to colocation or density or sellable space may occurEscalate any issues/constraints around site infrastructure to DA&E teamResponsible for updating CAD drawings for Proposed Designs and deploymentsResolves any deployment issues (cabinets/cages) where physical deployment differs from virtual recordsWorks to resolves any complex DQM issues, and creates USID and associated inventory objectsMay work with regional peers and AP project team on to fulfil any capacity or customer related obligationsAnswer general inventory/infrastructure related questions for stakeholders or escalates to senior team members, this includes any requests coming in centrally from our Hub Queue that falls out of scope for different teamsQualifications, key skills and attributes:Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related fieldStrong technical mindset and ability to work through complex and highly technical solutionsKey understanding of power and cooling in data centers, or from varied industries where skillset and experience in transferrableExcellent communication skills, including ability to work with internal and external stakeholders from geographically and culturally different backgroundsAttention to details, CAD exposure, and ability to attain and maintain complex informationEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.  If you are a qualified candidate and need assistance or an accommodation, please let us know by completing this form.
