Echodyne is seeking a Contract PCB Design Engineer to join our team working in a fast-paced environment developing high-performance commercial radar solutions.
High-performance printed circuit boards are critical to realizing a high-performance radar sensor. As a Contract PCB Design Engineer, you will play a key role in every phase of the product lifecycle (Definition, Exploration, Architecting, Design, Development, Verification, Production, and Sustainment). In each phase you will both contribute to solving and learn from challenging problems in circuit design, design for test, design for manufacturability, all related to state-of-the-art radar. In this role, you will draw upon your deep background in PCB design to aid in the quick progression through the smallest assessments to the largest design efforts for ground-breaking products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute PCB layout, DFX efforts and fabrication/assembly package generation for multiple designs from prototypes & coupons to pre-production to production and also product revisions
Work with RF Engineering and Analog/Mixed Signal design teams to learn requirements and key features, understand how these features match with vendor capabilities, and implement best practices in Schematic and Layout
Work with RF Engineering, Analog/Mixed Signal Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and external vendors to optimize designs for cost, quality, and manufacturability
Prepare drawing updates for ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), MCOs (Manufacturing Change Orders) and Deviations
Other related tasks required to fulfill the needs of the business
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Experience using Altium Designer Environment – both Schematic Capture and PCB Layout Environment
The use of Mentor Graphics, PADs or ORCAD software packages could also be considered
Experience consolidating design rule input from multiple sources, such as PCB fabricators, PCBA assemblers, and design engineers
Experience running Design Rule Checks, interpreting the results, and resolving DRC issues
In-depth understanding of PWB/PCB design processes for RF and High Speed Digital boards, including stackup selection, assembly methods, and DFM/DFT appropriate design methodologies
Understanding of IPC standards, PCB materials and finishes, and fabrication and assembly processes, particularly with regards to high frequency, RF/mm-wave applications
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree (or higher) in Electronics and 10+ years of recent design experience, or equivalent industry knowledge and 15+ years of recent design experience
IPC Designer Certification is a plus
Experience with navigating computer systems and software necessary to perform job functions using tools within the Windows Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Eligibility to handle export controlled data (ITAR, EAR)

WHAT WE OFFER The pay range for this position is $75.00 to $85.00 per hour.
