We work closely with cross-functional partners to align product development with business strategy, ensuring operational excellence, fan engagement, and industry leadership.THE JOBWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering organization across Sports Platforms in EMEA. If you are passionate about creating industry-defining software, nurturing engineering talent, and innovating at the intersection of technology and live sports, we want to hear from you.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGPartner with executive leadership to define and evolve the company’s long-term technical vision and roadmap.Translate high-level business objectives into detailed engineering strategies, initiatives, and measurable goals.Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure continuous innovation and technical differentiation.Build, lead, and mentor a diverse and geographically distributed team of engineers, architects, and managers.Establish a strong engineering culture rooted in trust, transparency, collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.Invest in talent development by providing coaching, clear career paths, growth opportunities, and performance feedback.Implement strategies to attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance software systems.Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of products and features by refining and enforcing best practices in software development.Drive adoption of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and robust CI/CD pipelines.Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, architecture reviews, test automation, monitoring, and observability.Provide hands-on guidance on system architecture, infrastructure design, scalability, data management, and cloud operations.Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure systems meet regulatory and industry standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).Optimize systems for performance, availability, and cost-efficiency, especially in cloud-native environments.Partner with Product, Design, Data and Sales to prioritize initiatives and deliver on customer and market needs.Communicate engineering priorities, trade-offs, and constraints to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and persuasive manner.Align engineering capacity and planning with product roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and customer commitments.Define and manage engineering KPIs, SLAs, and OKRs to measure progress and inform data-driven decisions.Own the engineering budget, including headcount planning, tools, vendors, and infrastructure spend.Ensure business continuity, risk mitigation, and incident management processes are well-defined and effectively executed.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)Proven years of progressive experience in software engineering roles, with at proven years in a senior engineering leadership role.Proven track record of scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments (startup to mid-size or enterprise).Deep understanding of modern software architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), distributed systems, and API-first development.Demonstrated success in building and managing high-performing teams that deliver complex, customer-facing applications.Strong grasp of agile development, continuous integration and delivery, DevOps culture, and engineering metrics.Hands-on technical background;
