We are looking for someone preferably with experience in cloud-based architecture, customer focus, and who has a passion for change.  You will be building and delivering software that will have a real impact on our planet's future.What You’ll DoLead technical direction for the engineering team, setting best practices and ensuring high-quality software deliveryArchitect and develop scalable, event-driven microservices and APIs that power our GRC solutionsLearn and adapt to GRC principles and apply them effectively in software developmentCollaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business needs into technical solutionsWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable code that follows industry best practices and coding standardsMentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovationDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans and automated tests (unit, integration, functional, etc.) with Workiva solutions in mind to ensure software quality and reliabilityParticipate in product discovery activities with customers and stakeholders to gain insights, validate hypotheses, and identify opportunities for innovationEstablish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to identify problems, suggest solutions, and drive continuous improvementCommunicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences, using clear and concise languageParticipating in the production on-call support rotationWhat You’ll NeedMinimum Qualifications6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceStrong foundation in computer science, including expertise in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented software design, and working with cloud-based distributed systemsHand-on experience in a production engineering environmentStrong experience designing and building service oriented architectures and working with distributed systemsStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability skills, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in software engineeringPreferred Qualifications7+ years of professional software development experienceExposure to SaaS product-engineering developmentExperience with AWS and TypeScriptProficiency with, event-driven architectures, data pipelines, and event sourcingExpertise in React, GraphQL (API development), and Snowflake (data storage)Expertise in debugging complex systems or applicationsExperience as a technical mentor preferred, with the ability to coach and mentor junior engineersExperience working in an agile development environment preferred, with a focus on continuous improvement and deliveryPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsEmbrace your inner wanderlust – expect up to 10% travelStay virtually untethered with the power of reliable internet access, enabling you to work remotely from your chosen spot, whether that's your home office or a beachside caféHow You’ll Be Rewarded✅ Salary range in the US: $151,000.00 - $242,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
