Projects/programs are typically highly complex with a broad multidisciplinary and/or technical scope.May manage one or more solid-line direct reports and supervise the activities of others in a matrixed environment.Often the point-person between a team of PM’s supporting projects for a business unit.Occasionally provides strategic input and collaboration with the BU.Consistently demonstrates advanced maturity and emotional intelligence.Mentors and develops team membersAnticipates internal/external business and regulatory issuesRecommends product, process or service improvements and supports their executionIdentifies strategic opportunities for the platform or BU and effectively communicates them to executivesActs independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.Responsibilities: Primary Project Manager on projects with a multidisciplinary and or technical scope, including platform projectsLeads and/or strongly contributes to project definitionLeads the project planning activities including identification of keys task and formulation of timelinesDevelops project plans, including detailed timelines with durations, dependencies, critical path, and milestonesProvides management and leadership skills and drives execution on program goals.Works on simple to complex challenges Interprets internal/external business and regulatory challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinates activities of other personnel.Requirements:Command of product development lifecyclesComfortable applying the principles of Design For Six SigmaCommand of most topics in the PM Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK)Expert at project scheduling using MS Project, including dependencies and critical path determination and optimizationKnowledge of genetic sequencing principlesAbility to operate at a system level as well as dig deep into specificsExperienced in product development of advanced technology projects, understands very well how to manage cross functional deliverables of high complexityAbility to manage the interaction between software, hardware, chemistry on a sequencer.Able to transform data into actionable informationAbility to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Ability to network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.Requires a minimum of 10-12 years of product development experience in a regulated industry with 6 years managing projects.Experience/Education:Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experienceTypically requires a current PMP certificationA technical background in engineering, advanced science or equivalent is a must have for this role#LI-HYBRIDThe estimated base salary range for the Senior Staff Program Manager - Sequencing Platforms role based in the United States of America is: $152,600 - $228,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
