Job Requisition ID #25WD89614Position OverviewAutodesk is seeking a senior leader to serve as Director and Senior Corporate Counsel, AMER Commercial Legal. This is a key leadership role within our global legal team, with responsibility for all commercial legal support across the AMER region (U.S., Canada, and Latin America). As the principal legal advisor to our AMER Sales and Procurement organizations, you will lead a team of nine legal professionals, sit on the AMER Sales Leadership Team, and drive business outcomes in one of Autodesk’s most strategic and complex markets.This is a high-impact, visible role that combines legal leadership, team management, and business partnership. You will work closely with senior cross-functional stakeholders in our Sales and Procurement organizations to manage risk, support complex commercial negotiations, and improve deal velocity.This position reports to the Vice President, Commercial Legal.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary legal partner to AMER Sales and Procurement leadershipLead and develop a high-performing legal team, fostering a culture of performance, growth, and engagementProvide strategic legal counsel for complex, high-value negotiations with enterprise customers, direct and channel salesSupport Autodesk’s growing public sector business across federal, state, and municipal levelsOversee legal matters related to partner/channel agreements, go-to-market programs, and operational processesLead legal support for procurement initiatives, including vendor contracts and purchasing operationsServe as global subject-matter expert for Autodesk’s new buying experience developing scalable legal processes, templates, and resourcesCollaborate across the global Legal function and broader company to drive consistency, compliance, and operational efficiencyQualificationsJD from an accredited U.S. institution and active bar membership in good standing.12+ years of combined legal experience in-house and at a law firm, with a strong focus on enterprise technologyExperience supporting direct and channel sales models, with ability to manage legal issues across diverse GTM motions; experience supporting U.S. public sector sales is preferredKnowledge and experience with commercial law, software licensing, IP, data privacy/security, competition law, employment, and regulatory complianceDemonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing legal teamsExecutive presence and strong business acumen; ability to influence at the leadership level and guide strategic decisionsExcellent judgment, communication skills, and ability to operate effectively in an agile, matrixed environmentWillingness to travel as neededLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $202,300 and $327,250. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
