As a Software Engineer for Automation, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, pipelines, and scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our Desktop software products and Cloud Services.The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development, a passion for automation, and a keen eye for details. You will need to be experienced in testing software APIs and UI using C++/C#, or Python, and a quick learner and willing to take new challenges. Our team culture empowers you to make effective decisions, work collaboratively, and take accountability for the overall quality of software development projects. You will have the opportunity to work closely with team members globally to ensure excellent quality product deliveries by applying strong software automation, quality assurance and development skills.This is a hybrid role based out of Vancouver, BC.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, engineering pipelines and scriptsIdentify, analyze, and report software defects and issues, and work with the development team to resolve themDevelop comprehensive software automation test plans and cases to ensure the quality of the feature functionality and workflow, application performanceContinuously improve test automation processes and methodologies to increase coverage, efficiency, and effectivenessDevelop, maintain and monitor automation test dashboard and report for engineering processStay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software testing and automationAnalytical advisor role that requires understanding of the theories and concepts of a discipline and the ability to apply best practicesA common career stabilization point (AKA the “full-contributor” level) for Professional rolesRequire knowledge and experience such that the incumbent can understand the full range of relevant principles, practices, and practical applications within their disciplineSolve complex problems of diverse scope by taking a new perspective on existing solutions and applying knowledge of best practices in practical situationsUse data analysis, judgment, and interpretation to select the right course of actionApply creativity in recommending variations in approach“Connect the dots” of assignments to the bigger pictureMay lead projects or key elements within a broader projectMay also have accountability for leading and improving on-going processesBuild effective relationships with more senior practitioners and peers, and build a network of external peersWork independently, with close guidance given at critical pointsMay begin to act as a mentor or resource for colleagues with less experienceMinimum QualificationsStrong experience in software test development, or Automation with proven experience participating in CI/CD in complex software development environmentsHands on experience and proficiency with one or more major development languages , C++/C# or Python programming skillsHands on experience on testing automation tools and frameworksSolid working familiarity with agile development processes and methodologiesHave a keen eye for detail and strive to write high-quality testsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, possessing initiative to get things done with minimal supervisionStrong knowledge/experience in Docker, CI/CD, Operating System, Network, AWS, Azure, or AI/ML would be an advantagePreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $79,500 and $116,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
