Software Engineer II,Electrical Engineering Status: Exempt (salaried) Department: Electrical Engineering Position SummaryThe Software Engineer II is a vital team member that supports activities related to the development and continual operation of Plug Power’s products. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining graphical user interfaces for diagnostics, maintenance and configuration of fuel cell systems. The Software Engineer II will be an integral part to help in the enhancement of the current technology, establishing and developing processes to grow the engineering department, and assisting in the development and design of new products. The focus for this individual will be on software tools and GUIs used to interface with embedded systems.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesConceptualize, design, and deliver fuel cell control systems.Create requirements, design, source, and test custom electrical controls.Specific design and development responsibilities may include:Web stack frontend developmentWindows Programs to interface/test embedded software/devicesDiagnostic Software and control algorithmsEmbedded drivers for microcontroller-based systemsMaintain documentation of all software phases concurrent with Plug Power Policies.Proactive in providing value-added solutions to current designs.Build relationships and engage in regular communications with cross-functional colleaguesCollaborate with the Systems Team to ensure firmware meets the required intent of the overall electrical architecture.Collaborate with the Service Team to ensure ease of maintenance of products.Support active projects and new project development as required.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBS in Engineering or a STEM related discipline3-5 years’ experience working in EngineeringMin 1 year experience with GUI Development for WindowsExperienced with C# .Net, .Net Framework DevelopmentFamiliar with Firmware Development using C/C++ languageFamiliar with Version Control systems such as Git, SVN etc.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Development experience with use of a Coding StandardFamiliar with Model Based code generation (MATLAB/Simulink) a plusCross Platform GUI Development (Linux, Windows, Android, iOS) a plusExperience with Network Programming a plusMust have strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Results-oriented and driven work style.Excellent task-oriented follow-through.Uncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to design and/or optimize independently to drive significant advancement in complex projects/programsPay Rate:$76,900.00 - $115,400.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
