Workiva is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Marketing Operations to optimize our marketing automation infrastructure and scale global campaign execution. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing Technology & Operations, this pivotal role will be responsible for driving operational excellence in campaign execution, marketing automation, and ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, and business technology teams.The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, coupled with extensive knowledge of campaign and lifecycle operations. What You’ll Do:Marketing Automation Product Owner:Serve as the Product Owner and subject-matter expert (SME) for Marketo, overseeing configuration, integration, and ongoing platform optimizationMaximize platform impact by driving efficiency and effectiveness in campaign executionEnsure compliance with global privacy and regulatory standards, including GDPR, CCPA, and CASLStrategy and Execution:Develop, operationalize, and optimize a comprehensive email marketing strategy and enhance email performance using data-driven insights, such as A/B testing and quality assuranceLead end-to-end lifecycle operations from lead capture through handoff to Sales, including lead processing, nurturing, segmentation, and scoringTranslate business needs into a scalable global campaign operations framework aligned with GTM strategies and revenue marketing objectivesLead campaign architecture and execution, ensuring scalable processes, efficient resourcing, and high-quality campaign deploymentScalability and Optimization:Scale marketing automation to support global business units and regions, ensuring localization across languages and marketsDevelop and enforce campaign build best practices and QA standards to streamline execution, reduce friction, accelerate time-to-market, and improve performance globallyUse performance data and feedback loops to continuously optimize campaign operations and identify areas for innovationCross-Functional Collaboration:Own the relationship with third-party agencies supporting Marketo campaign build and execution, ensuring alignment on process, quality, and timelinesPartner closely with Marketing, Sales Development, and Business Technology to align operational strategy with pipeline and growth objectivesRoadmap and Innovation:Own and evolve the campaign and lifecycle operations roadmap to advance platform capabilities, automation maturity, and campaign scalability to align with business objectivesPartner with the MarTech team to evaluate and implement new tools and technologies that enhance campaign operations performance and efficiencyTraining and Enablement:Coach and develop team members to strengthen execution, collaboration, and professional growthMaintain documentation, training materials, and enablement resources to support onboarding and ongoing educationWhat You’ll Need:Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related field10+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing automation, or a closely related fieldPreferred QualificationsProven experience managing external partners and leading collaborative, high-performing teamsDeep expertise in Marketo (or equivalent marketing automation platform); Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) certification is a strong plusStrong understanding of Salesforce architecture and data structure, with proven experience managing MAP-to-CRM integration to ensure accurate lead flow, attribution, and reportingProven experience developing and leading centralized campaign operations in a global B2B SaaS environment with revenues of $1B or moreDemonstrated success in creating and operationalizing global email marketing strategies, lifecycle workflows, and lead handoff processes that scale across regions and languagesExperience working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, operations, and technical teams to develop scalable processes that support business growthStrategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset to deliver resultsExcellent analytical and project management skills, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a matrixed, global organizationStrong leadership presence and organizational agility, with the ability to build trust and influence across stakeholders at all levelsTravel Requirements & Working ConditionsMinimal travel, less than 10%Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva officeHow You’ll Be Rewarded✅ Salary range in the US: $154,000.00 - $250,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
