As an Accountant, you’ll work to solve:  Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, post journal entries, and prepare account reconciliations in line with corporate close deadlines Prepare and process all monthly accounting adjustments including accruals and prepayments Accounts Payable processing, ensuring that all vendor invoices are supported by purchase orders, are posted timely, accurately and preparing payment runs in accordance with payment terms Manage and perform cash functions including the preparation of timely bank reconciliations, cash burn summaries and funding requirements Work with our 3rd party accounting and payroll service provider to ensure that all local statutory accounting and tax compliance obligations are identified and filed timely Assist with the preparation and filing of GST/indirect and corporate/direct tax returns alongside external tax advisors. Payroll processing working alongside the International Payroll Team and HR Business Partners in gathering all relevant employee information and updating the external payroll provider on a monthly basis, including managing vacation and leave payments Manage employee reimbursement workflow Work with HR and payroll in managing terminations & severance calculations and payments Support on any financial system change, newly embedded systems and processes and contribute enhancements and continued development where needed Develop, enhance and present monthly/quarterly reporting metrics to Senior Management for the countries assigned Provide analysis and support to our Strategic Finance team as necessary and perform other duties as assigned The Team You'll Work With You’ll be joining our Accounting team and reporting to the International Controller based in the UK and working as part of the wider International Accounting team. This individual will be a key member of the International Accounting team and the key contact for all aspects of accounting and taxes for our subsidiary in Brazil.  This role will also help to implement and drive process / control improvements, and also hold some accounting responsibilities for other international locations. The scope of the role is broad with exposure to many areas of accounting, payroll and finance as well as cross functional work with other departments throughout the company. About You Accounting qualification with at least 3 years relevant experience gained preferably in a software, FInTech or professional accounting firm Strong knowledge and experience in Brazilian local accounting, payroll requirements and regulations Strong technical and analytical skills of local Brazilian requirements and US GAAP Self starter with the ability to work independently and maintain open communication with coworkers, especially with team members that are geographically dispersed Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills Only resumes in English will be considered The following experience is preferred but not required: SaaS industry experience Experience with ZIP and NetSuite At Carta, you’re not just an employee.
