That’s why we’re a leader in next-generation cybersecurity.Protection Starts with People.The Role We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Director of Accounts Payable to lead our face-paced, high performing team and scale our global Accounts Payable team in Ireland, UK and the US. The Director of Accounts Payable will oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, drive operational excellence through process improvements, and ensure strong internal controls compliance.As a key leader, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, and others to identify and optimise processes, systems and ensure continuous improvement.Your day-to-day Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Accounts Payable team, including managers and analysts.Establish and execute the vision and strategic roadmap for the global AP function.Serve as the subject matter expert on all AP-related matters and policies.Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment execution, and expense reimbursements.Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments in accordance with company policies and payment terms.Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes with accurate Accounts Payable accruals and reconciliations.Mentor, coaches and develops the team through training, establishment of objectives, communication of policies and procedures, constructive discipline; builds morale and motivation.Monitors the team’s performance and utilization to endure direct reports(s) meet individual tasks, deadlines and perform to establish standards.Drive continuous process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardization across entities and regions.Lead Accounts Payable M&A integration, including systems integration, vendor onboarding, and harmonization of payment processes and policies across entities to ensure a seamless transition and compliance with internal controlsLead the implementation of new tools or upgrades aimed at increasing efficiency and accuracy.Partner with IT and Finance Systems teams to maintain and optimize Accounts Payable systems (e.g., D365, Omnea, Workday).Oversees the strategic and operational management of the travel & expense platform, ensuring efficient workflows, policy compliance, timely issue resolution and continuous process optimization to enable scalabilityMaintain strong internal controls in accordance with SOX, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.What you bring to the teamBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master’s or FCCA or FCA preferred).Extensive background in accounts payable and related finance functions, combining expertise from public accounting, public company environments, and shared service models, including a proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams.Proven leadership, team development, and project management experience in Accounts Payable in a large multinational organization.Effective communication skills and promotes an engaging environment.Strategic leader with strong analytical, organizational and stakeholder management skills.Ability to prioritize business needs, adapt to rapid business changes, meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively across the organization.Open mindset of continuous improvement working with business partners to effect change.Change management experience, especially related to systems and process enhancements and transformation.Deep knowledge of Accounts Payable best practices, accounting principles, and compliance frameworks (SOX, GAAP).Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, and evolving organization.Commercial acumen, financial skills and analytical abilities including proficiency in systems (e.g., D365, Omnea, Workday) and Microsoft OfficeWhy ProofpointProtecting people is at the heart of our award-winning cybersecurity solutions, and the people who work here are the key to our success.
