We are looking for a dynamic, curious, motivated, and self-starting Senior Solutions/Sales Engineer (SSE) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-sales technical engagements with our customers and prospects to represent the Calix Intelligent Access and/or Revenue Edge product portfolio and solutions. The SSE is expected to learn the Calix value proposition, deliver compelling presentations, demonstrate product capabilities, and design comprehensive network solutions to meet customer requirements.Responsibilities and Duties:Position and sell award-winning networking products and solutionsDeep understanding of the product portfolio to apply the best solutionsInfluence decisions and adept at simplifying our Calix technology conceptsThought leader and influencer who is fluent in Calix technologiesAssist in the preparation of RFP’s and customer inquiriesDeliver technical sales-oriented presentations to customer's technical staff and senior managementUnderstand business requirements involved with technical account strategyAssist customers and resellers in configuring and testing products and networks in lab and field trialsProvide leadership and guide customers on technical and operational issues within areas of expertiseWork with customers to design and architect network solutions to their applications needsMentor and guide Calix colleagues and partnersResearch and stay up to date on the most recent industry standards and trendsQualifications:BSEE/BSCS desiredTravel expectations: In region travel up to 50% on average required to support customer engagementsStrong technical familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access network architecturesUnderstanding of SaaS and SDN based technologiesFamiliarity with fiber and copper-based Access systemsExperience with WAN services, PON and Ethernet based architecturesKnowledge with various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) and transport functions (L2/3 VPN)Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to L2/L3 deployment architectures and methodologiesExperience partnering with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement in product, education, training, testing methods, and demosBS in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.Industry certifications preferred but not required.Must have a valid driver's licenseLocation:Remote-based position located in South Dakota and Nebraska.#LI-RemoteCompensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States.
