Opportunity overview We are looking for a Director of Data Governance and Management to come join our awesome team. As the Director of Data Governance and Management your responsibility will be to make sure data in our application and analytics platform is trustworthy, reliable, organized and well managed to support real-time transactions and downstream analytics needs. You will be the data conscience of our organization - being the governor and the promoter of data - one of our most important strategic assets. You will work with engineering, products, analytics, clinical and operations to improve data quality, ensure proper data use, and improve data literacy. The work will be fast-paced yet enterprise-centric, with evolving needs - requiring discipline, flexibility, curiosity, and grace under pressure. At a growing organization, this is a position that offers the ability to make a substantive mark on the company and its partners with exponential growth opportunities. You will be part of the Data & AI organization and build one Cohere data platform to support our downstream teams to optimize patient care paths.   What you will do: Lead a group of data owners, solution architects, and analytic experts to  Drive best practices in data modeling and information management throughout Cohere’s application and analytic platforms, Establish and maintain enterprise data catalog with supporting metadata and business and clinical context Provide support to promote data discoverability, data literacy, and proper data use  Enable the wider organization to attain enterprise KPIs related to data governance goals, including data quality monitoring, lineage tracking, and etc. Develop and iteratively improve data contracts between data producers, data platform and data consumers Work collaboratively across Cohere to Establish and maintain enterprise data and metric definitions Accelerate our “shift left” data governance framework, including adherence to standards related to data validation, storage, and management Establish and enforce data governance standards, ensuring data quality, integrity, security, privacy controls, and compliance Classify data based on its sensitivity, importance, and criticality to the organization Enhance the quality and reliability of data products by Empowering the development and implementation teams by providing business context, capturing data lineage, and establishing data quality standards Monitoring and maintaining data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness Collaborating with data users and other stakeholders to understand their data needs Your background & requirements:  Bachelor in health informatics, data analytics, or related areas (Masters preferred) 8-10 years data experience at health technology company where health outcomes were critical to the mission, preferably a healthcare analytics company or population health organization Passionate about improving the U.S. healthcare system and helping ensure every patient receives the best care possible 5+ years of hands-on experience with healthcare administrative and clinical data, conducting in-depth analysis to support data-driven decision making  3+ years of data governance experience, including data cataloging, lineage, quality management, security and privacy Proven track record in leading through influence, ability to drive cross-functional complex data projects in a fast-paced and high-intensity “scale-up” environment Knowledge of healthcare privacy and security rules and regulations Experience with cloud data solutions, including data management and governance tooling Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with business, technical, and clinical leaders to define and govern data quality metrics We can’t wait to learn more about you and meet you at Cohere Health! The salary range for this position is $165,000 to $190,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
