As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you develop and deliver mission-critical data and metrics as products to the business functions across the organization, democratize insights, unlock decision science, and drive data-driven decisions. You play a key role in propelling the data culture at Workiva. You will gain a deep understanding of business problems and match data and technology to provide end-to-end analytical solutions. You will partner with cross-functional teams and through the decision chain. This role will be working within the organization's Business Technology (BT) group. BT powers Workiva’s growth, enhances the employee experience, and boosts organizational productivity with tech-driven transformation and innovative solutions. The Data & Analytics team drives data-driven decisions and innovations across Workiva. What You’ll Do Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of analytical data products including data assets, metrics, BI capabilities, and data-driven decision applicationsTranslate analytical data requirements and business logic into efficient, scalable queries and data modelsWrite, test, and deploy high-quality, maintainable SQL code and other data transformation scriptsDevelop and implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity and accuracy.Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify analytical data needs, define data product requirements, and agree on success measuresSynthesize the needs across stakeholders to build common components that can act as multipliers across different functionsDevelop and productionize the analytical data products, including metrics, data tables, data catalog and classification, metrics dictionary and semantic layer Partner with Data Engineering to ensure development adheres to standard and utilizes the latest technologiesPartner with Data Governance to ensure compliance and security are in place at launch and continue maintaining complianceEngage directly with data users during pre-launch and post-launch to ensure the analytical data product will help them reach their desired business outcomesDevelop and conduct data user enablement content and sessions; optimize and continuously improve data user experience Explore and implement integration and automation capabilities to continuously reduce time to insights, drive data and analytical efficiency, and improve data ROI Be the expert on analytical data assets and applications Maintain a strong knowledge of Workiva products through a commitment to ongoing trainingWhat You'll Need Minimum Qualifications 4+ years of relevant experience in a similar role, including analytics engineer, data engineering, or comparable analytics solutionsUndergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databasesStrong proficiency using dbt for data transformation and modelingsStrong proficiency in data modeling concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling, normalization)Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake)Knowledge of various business technology platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP, marketing automation), with specific expertise in supporting metricsPreferred Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teamsFamiliarity with business intelligence reporting tools (e.g., QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI)Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)Experience with Python, R, or other relevant scripting languages Planning and organizing skills to prioritize projects and ensure data is delivered accurately and understandablyFamiliarity with data structures and schemas from various systems (ERP, GRC, GL) and an understanding of API design philosophy/patterns and communication protocols (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyTravel Requirement and Working Conditions Up to 10% travelReliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva officeHow You’ll Be Rewarded✅ Salary range in the US: $111,000.00 - $178,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
