Looking for a drastic career change without having to stray far from your roots? We're looking for a Principal QA Specialist for the component level testing of subsystems of Autodesk's next generation AutoCAD product.You should be able to draw upon your subject matter expertise, "takes one to know one" attitude to be able to create business needs and requirements.This position is for a software tester with a passionate commitment to quality software and best in class user experience. Applying strong development experience, this tester will make significant contributions to the quality of the software component delivered by this development organization. The candidate must implement and maintain a coherent, progressive, "code-based" strategy for white box testing of components.  The tester shall also be required to participate in black box testing of the implemented functionality as needed. The candidate shall work closely with software developers and take an active role in ensuring that the components meet the highest standards of quality. ResponsibilitiesUse software development tools, develops and executes test strategies with the objective of finding defects during the software development process and assuring quality products. Ensures functionality, usability, stability, capacity, and performancePlan, design and execute tests for features, functionality, or whole products at the code level, including unit tests, functional tests, performance tests, scenario tests, workflow tests, install tests, and interoperability testsParticipate in feature team meetings throughout the product development life cycle. Works with development team on spec design to proactively recognize and prevent issues from developingTest features to ensure they will interact correctly with other features in production. Provides input into feature designManual testing as well as test automation when possibleMinimum QualificationsExtensive work experience in civil, architecture, mechanical, electrical, or software engineering  with hands on experience with AutoCADBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Civil/Mechanical/Architecture, or other engineering discipline is desirableGeneral understanding of software design principlesStrong problem solving skills with programming experience in C++, VB, .NET/C#, XML, Unicode, or JavaKnowledge of Selenium, Win 32, and Microsoft UI automation APIs are plusesKnowledge of AutoCAD or other competitive CAD software is a strong plusStrong written and communication skills, versatile with collaboration toolsLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $104,000 and $143,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
