As a Senior User Experience Researcher at Autodesk, you will play a pivotal role in our team, focusing on delivering user-centered insights that inform and enhance the products and services that are used to build the world.  Reporting to the User Experience Research Manager as part of the AEC User Research Team, the Senior User Experience Researcher will collaborate with a talented team of UX Designers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Engineers, and other key stakeholders. In this role, you'll join a larger User Research team, contributing to innovative solutions that meet user needs and business objectives. The role will require top-notch research skills, along with a strategic mindset and the ability to collaborate with teams across the company. The ideal candidate must also be able to influence stakeholders through strong partnerships. When applying, please include your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and qualifications.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with product teams to apply human-centered design practices to inform product and design decisionsProactively plan and execute comprehensive user research projects and multi-phased programs throughout the design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validationDevelop a deep understanding of business goals and objectives, prioritizing and synthesizing insights to inform decision-making and providing strategic insights about customer needs and expectationsCollaborate with stakeholders and partners to ensure research is aligned with strategic priorities, is acted on and optimized for impactEmploy a wide range of research methods to drive product and organizational impact, including contextual inquiry, diary studies, interviews, formative and summative usability studies, and quantitative methods, such as surveys and data analyticsCollect and analyze data using advanced empirical and statistical methodologies to provide actionable insightsCommunicate meaningful and actionable insights in compelling and impactful ways, providing comprehensive and well-supported recommendationsDesign and facilitate workshops using advanced design thinking techniques to drive idea generation and activate research findings into strategies and outcomesCoach and support non-researchers in adopting best practices to scale research activitiesMinimum Qualifications5+ years of professional experience conducting and leading user experience researchAn interest in and understanding of design software ideally with hands-on user research experience in this areaStrong understanding of human-centered design principles and practicesStrong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear and actionable insightsExcellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust across the organizationExperience working alongside data scientists to combine behavioral and attitudinal insights into a holistic narrativeUp-to-date toolkit of qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools, and the experience to determine the appropriate approach for each situationAbility to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and priorities effectivelyA solid foundation in problem-solving techniques, applying a holistic and logical approach to research and analysisComfort and familiarity with adopting AI tools and processes in researchOpen-minded and experimental approach to problem-solving and research methodologiesPreferred QualificationsExperience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industryUniversity degree in a related field such as Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related/equivalent fieldFamiliarity with advanced design thinking techniques and their application in research activationExperience coaching and mentoring non-researchers in best practicesExperience with mixed or multi-method research approachesThe Ideal CandidateYour communication and storytelling skills are top-notch, allowing you to build credibility and collaborate with easeYou have a proven track record of designing and executing complex research studies using mixed methodsYou can navigate complex problems and environmentYou’re collaborative, enjoy partnering, sharing, and bringing your team along with youYou're open-minded and experimental, always willing to try new approaches and methodologiesLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
