Job Requisition ID #25WD88039Position OverviewAutodesk is seeking a passionate and skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our new Developers Tooling team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in server-side technologies and hands-on experience in full-stack development, with deep expertise in AWS technologies; hands-on experience in TypeScript, Python, and Node.js; and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems that power our platform from developers to developers.You will need a solid foundation in a full range of technologies from server to client, experience designing and describing complex software systems, and a drive to tackle new challenges head-on.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy secure and scalable internal developer tooling, including APIs, CI/CD workflows, and SDK infrastructure, enhancing existing components as necessary to meet project requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional and partner teams across the organization to gather requirements, define solutions, and support both backend and client-side development effortsArchitect and optimize system infrastructure for performance, reliability, and securityDrive code quality across the team by setting and reinforcing best practices, performing design/code reviews, and guiding maintainable implementation patternsContribute to architectural decisions and mentor the team in solving complex engineering challenges in distributed environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable solutionsParticipate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systemsMentor and provide directions to less experienced software engineers regarding company development processes and product architectureMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years building production applications on large-scale AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, RDS, S3)Deep hands-on expertise with TypeScript and Python; strong working knowledge of Java is a plusExperience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservicesExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases including RDS and DynamoDBExtensive experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on expertise in tools such as Jenkins and SpinnakerPreferred QualificationsStrong understanding of object-oriented principles and software design patterns; experience in languages such as Java or C#/.NET is preferredExperience with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, and MakeExperience designing and developing SDKs or client libraries for public APIsExperience with API documentation tools (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger)Experience with Observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk#LI-CL1Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
