As part of the team, you will be developing future sequencing and library preparation biochemistries with a focus on enzymatic processes.Position SummaryAs a Scientist within Illumina’s Research and Development team, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team to help create new sequencing methods. Primary responsibilities include research and development of new sequencing chemistry, workflow, reagents, as well as purification and analytical characterization of molecules such as proteins and DNA oligos through biomolecular techniques and biochemical assays.Responsibilities:Performs experiments of varying complexity and across a broad array of techniques, foresees issues and works to overcome obstacles to completing tasks or assignmentsPlans, conducts, summarizes, reports consistent conclusions to aid in team decision-makingContribute to ongoing internal research projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentKeeps detailed lab notebooks, prepare reports, updates, and summaries for managers and teams as directedListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position.
