A successful Senior SDET should have excellent troubleshooting skills, experience writing automation tests, creating extensive test cases, and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. We are looking for someone capable of driving several projects to completion from a QA perspective and a skilled technician that can also serve as a mentor to the team.Responsibilities include designing automation testing best practices, quality standards & processes, manual testing of backend applications, assisting engineers in creation of automation tests, and maintaining healthy automation testing pipelines. We are looking for a visionary that delivers recommendations on how to evolve testing best practices within the organization that solve today’s problems with the future direction of product testing in mind.Requirements or things you will learn on the job:5+ years of experience in quality engineering and experience in developing test automation frameworkProficient in Java or GoLang and testing frameworks such as Junit, TestNG, MockitoExperience in TypeScript / JavaScript preferredProficient in writing test cases for verification of web applicationsExperience writing Contract tests with tools like Pact, Postman, CypressExperience with testing REST APIs in a microservice environmentExperience with AWS and testing SaaS applicationsFamiliarity with SQL and NonSQL data storesFamiliarity with observability tools such as Kibana and DatadogFamiliarity with setting up Synthetic monitoring or similar means of simulating user behavior on live servicesFamiliarity with Jenkins, Cloudbees and CI/CD workflowsFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience planning and executing multi-sprint tasks with experience using tools such as Jira and ConfluenceStrong Communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-starter, Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsWhat success looks like in the role:Within the first 30 days you will:Onboard into your new role, get familiar with our product offering and technologyProactively meet peers and stakeholders, set up your test and development environmentFamiliarize with the test framework codes and understand how the automated tests run Familiarize with the SailPoint SDLC and development tools and processesBy 90 days:Assist in the maintenance of testing environmentsCollaborate with backend engineers and engineering managers to develop best practices for automation testingMonitor and analyze quality performance and the health of our automation testing pipelineAssist developers with testing issues and improving the team’s knowledge in automation testingDevelop, promote, and maintain quality standards and quality control systems.Assist in manual verification of full feature testing and ensuring quality across all supported devicesBy 6 months:Proactively help improve quality methodologies within the organization to increase efficiency and work with other QA resources to form best practices for how to test our productsAssist in optimizing workflows and processes used in our CI/CD pipelinesConsistently lead code/design reviews & presentationEstimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activitiesBy 1 year:Act as the subject matter expert in ISC qualityCoach and mentor to other junior engineers on the team Influence beyond engineering occasionally, with other internal groups or customersParticipate in planning sessions to gain knowledge of how to best create test plans for solutions designedSuggest technologies that could help improve ISC qualitySailPoint is committed to providing our Crew Members with a benefits program that is both comprehensive and competitive.
