The Senior Networking and Identity Access Management (IAM) Engineer is responsible for working with both internal and external customers to ensure the functional usage of the Workiva platform from a networking and authentication perspective. This role requires a customer first attitude with the passion for enthusing our customer base. As a Senior Networking and IAM Engineer, you will possess subject-matter expertise and a deep-rooted understanding of our technical stack to enable both reactive and proactive support, particularly in the areas of solution engineering and enabling resilience against performance and latency issues through trend analysis and implementation of best practices.What You’ll DoServe as a technical conduit between Workiva SME groups and Support Leadership in issue solution and request progressionLead complex technical escalations from several channels in the area of Networking and IAM where requiredOwn and deliver high-quality network support services to our internal and external customer baseDeliver exceptional levels of support that may span across the broader Product Support teamWork to limit and mitigate symptoms of performance and latency through both proactive and reactive troubleshooting and solution delivery effortsOwn, create and maintain technical process documentation in accordance with Workiva and industry best practicesProvide data-driven targeted delivery of training & enablement to the Global Support teams where requiredInterpret high level design documentation when troubleshooting latency to be able to isolate issues according to network blueprints aligned with business requirementsIntegrate SSO and automate user provisioning in the Workiva platform with IdPsTrain, onboard, and develop support new hires in the areas of Networking and IAMLead swarms with the team to provide on-the-spot coaching where required, and organize and lead daily sync sessionsLead by example as a true mentor to entry level engineers, setting the gold standard for Network and IAM Engineer performance, through strong technical capabilities and exemplary individual contributionsPromote a culture of continuous improvement, in alignment with the departmental visionWhat You’ll NeedMinimum Qualifications:4+ years of related career experience in Networking and IAM support within a technology organizationTypically required an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in a related rolePreferred Qualifications:Strong Acumen with SAML & SCIM protocolsExperience with Okta, AWS, Azure (Entra ID), GCP, Sailpoint, Ping Identity etc.Experience troubleshooting and managing proxies and cloud security solutions such as Zscaler and NetSkope.Networking and authentication related certifications such as CIAM, Security+, CCNA, Network+, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.Project management framework knowledge and experience leading small to medium sized projects from idea to implementation.Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced, evolving environmentIn-depth experience with networking devices such as firewalls, switches, and fabric interconnects.In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols, network diagnostic tools, and access control modelsPrior knowledge and understanding of common information security management frameworksIn-depth experience with defining secure and hardened information technology solutions, including IAM servicesHands-on experience with modern and enterprise authentication patterns and platformsExperience and knowledge in diverse cloud security solutions.High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity where requiredDeep-rooted understanding of networking operating systemsExperience mentoring a small team of entry-mid level engineersProven change management skills; an ambassador for change with a focus on delivering resultsTravel Requirements & Working ConditionsReliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a company officeOccasional requirement for travel for customer and internal meetingsHow You’ll Be Rewarded✅ Salary range in the US: $74,000.00 - $118,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
