The Senior Associate Controls Engineer will be responsible for data center control system deployment, maintenance, support and leading small projects.ResponsibilitiesSystem Operation and Work PracticesPerforms maintenance and repairs on control systems, and develops SOWs for complex control system maintenance and replacement projects within a moderate scopeProgram PLC controllers for upgrade projects and system changesConfigure BMS AVEVA System Platform for upgrade projects and system changesReview, approve and manage control system documentation including SOO, control panel drawings and network topologyManage data center controls network changes including, expansion, IP address assignment and fault findingLeads small controls system upgrade projectsSupports large site wide control system retrofit projectsProblem-SolvingIdentifies and understands underlying issues; differentiates key elements from the irrelevant or trivialCan identify and correct component-level faultInternal/External ContactInteracts with and may provide direction to internal and external project teamsAssists in directing teams as per project or initiative such as General Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etcInternal and external written and verbal communication to include detailed analysis and reportsBecome control system subject matter expert to advise site teamsTechnical ExpertiseUtilizes developed understanding of typical electrical, fire protection, and HVAC system operationKnowledge of control systems to diagnose and repair advanced technical difficultiesTrainingAcquires knowledge by expanding experience with systems, vendor training and shadowing othersProvides feedback on training programsQualificationsProven years in hardware and software control system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning experience with an emphasis on controls service preferredSchneider PLC, AVEVA System Platform or Schneider EBO experience preferredData center experience or comparable critical infrastructure preferredGood knowledge of German and EnglishEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.  If you are a qualified candidate and need assistance or an accommodation, please let us know by completing this form.
