Oversees controls design & submittal documents and the standardization on all aspects of controls system design. Leads teams and manages complex, cross-functional projects.ResponsibilitiesDesignDevelops and updates design standards for Data Center controls systemsOversees the standardization with Global Ops Eng on all aspects of the controls system designEnsures adherence to policies and methodsDesign & Process ReviewOversees controls design and submittal documents for Data Center constructionReviews and approves change management requests for controls systemsSystem SupportInvestigates incidents and provides root cause analysisOversees the identification of control systems deficiencies and works with remainder of Global Ops Eng to identify deficiencies in other systemsSystem OptimizationManages system changes and optimization including; test procedures, schedule, coordination and teaming with on-site Data CenterData Center Ops Engineering personnel, and impacts communication with major stakeholdersDevelops tools and methods to support ongoing monitoring and optimization of system performanceManagementOversees managers on new system implementationDevelops and motivates team members, and drives resultsManages personnel detailsParticipates in industry organizations and influences industry opinionsLearns through internal Equinix management trainingProject ManagementLeads and manages teams on complex, cross-regional projects (sets goals, schedules, adherence to project timelines, manages resources and stakeholders)Responsible for development, submission, and execution of upgrade, lifecycle replacement, and modernization projectsInterfaces with other engineering disciplinesFinancialsReviews budget and scope, calculates savings pertaining to control system replacement projectsCalculate savingsResponsible for controls team budgetWork PracticesUtilizes safe working practices at an expert level (e.g. can apply procedure for lockout/tagout, can explain MSDS, etc.)Evaluates and assures the safe working practices of othersReviews and recommends work practice guidelines and policyInteracts with other engineering disciplinesQualifications10+ years in control system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning with emphasis & special focus on controlsBachelor DegreeThe United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $171,000 to $257,000 per yearOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
