We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success. Job SummaryThe IT Infrastructure team are recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will perform a wide variety of complex analytical, design, planning, implementation, and problem-solving tasks on global computer systems and, together with the physical and logical components that integrate these systems.Working within a framework of established procedures and adheres to appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines, contributing to the creation/updating of these frameworks where appropriate. Provides 3rd-line technical support to staff and may provide technical direction to other IT staff. The Infrastructure Engineer may be asked to undertake or coordinate system development tasks to include design, integration and formal testing, coordinating transition into live environment. May also have experience in audit, compliance and governance. Should be seasoned to independently manage projects.ResponsibilitiesPlans, installs, solves problems, and maintains VMware vCenter, ESXi, SRM, Aria Operations formally vROPs, and vSphere infrastructure and associated systemsPlans, installs, solves problems and supports physical and virtual servers for the purpose of ensuring reliability of systems and services across a global estateAnalyses, identifies and corrects technology issues, resolving operational issues and restoring servicesDocuments procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems, software and hardware; develops and reviews documentationActs as a liaison to vendors and technical-support to resolve complex problemsCoordinates and implements corrective measures that may involve site visits, telephone assistance or remote managementWork on Infrastructure related projectsAdvises and assists in the development of policies and proceduresMonitors and maintains software licensing, documents, and records for the purpose of ensuring compliance with policies and standardsContributes to plans, implements and maintains backup and DR procedures to ensure rapid recovery for mission-critical systems, and servicesPerforms other job-related duties as may be assignedProvide input to the Technology Roadmap when requested – assisting with research and design of new technology solutions where applicableReview and approve Server build/Resource requestsProactively involve P1/P2 incident callsWork closely with Tier-1, Network and Architecture teamsUphold for SLA compliance, incident management & Root cause analysisQualifications10+ years experienceBachelor's preferredIndustry certification(s) preferred. VMware/Nutanix certification is highly desirableMust have advanced experience and knowledge of:SME experience in VMWare ESXi including vCenter and VSANExperience with SDDC components (vSphere Replication, Aria Operations, SRM)Cloud Technologies and solutions including Azure, AWS and VMCvCenter upgrades and patching Powershell, Python scripting to automate tasksWindows Server Infrastructure and Services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFSOffice 365Enterprise Intel x86 based hardware (e.g. Dell Servers, Cisco UCS)Able to work in team as well as an individual contributor with minimal supervisionStrong problem-solving skills across the different Infrastructure layersKnowledge of the core hardware and software components that comprise large global systems and networks with expertise in some of the following areas:Nutanix AHV, Prism Element and CentralLAN/WAN, network and systems hardware and softwareMicrosoft SQL Server installation and configurationMicrosoft PowerBISAN Storage technologies (including Fibre Channel/iSCSI)DNS platform / InfobloxMonitoring and system management toolsVirtual Desktop TechnologiesBackup technologies (Commvault strongly desirable)Current and emerging operating systems, network environments and protocolsData security, including Server HardeningProject design and project trackingUnderstanding of processes and methodologyThe United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $139,000 to $209,000 per yearCalifornia (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $130,000 to $194,000 per yearColorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $118,000 to $176,000 per yearOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
