Highlights issues and drives resolution when required. Acts as mentor and technical coach for NSD Engineer I. ResponsibilitiesThe engineer is responsible for designing, integrating and implementing IP based services on the IPNGN networkProviding innovative network solutions and engaging OEMs when requiredDriving the MainOne IPv6 strategyNetwork design, planning, administration and maintenanceIP multicast setup and IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR router deploymentsEnsuring knowledge transfer for level-1 IPNOC and relevant teamsTroubleshooting and resolving WAN/LAN connectivity issuesManaging bandwidth of the IP backbone for optimal performancePerforming routine checks and maintenance on all network elementsRouting protocol troubleshooting experience in a large scale network (BGP, IS-IS OSPF, EIGRP)Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switchesMonitoring of network elements and ensuring prompt repair and restoration of all faulty/down sites/links.Installation, configuration and maintenance of network equipment such as routers, switches and firewalls like Cisco ASA, FortigateExploring existing knowledge base and make recommendation to improve systems, solutions and processesPMP and Analytical skillsQualificationsBachelors Degree Or Equivalent Experience3-5 years relevant experience is required.Relevant professional/technical certifications like CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, (CCIE is an advantage)Skills/CompetencesGood presentation and analytical skillsRelationship Management skillsTime & self-management skillsAbility to work well under pressureGood oral and written communication skillsGood knowledge of networking technologies - TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VPNs, EVPN, VxLAN, SDWAN, SDN etc.Hands on experience configuring Firewalls, Cisco and Juniper routers,Service provider experience in technologies like MPLS L2VPN,L3VPN,ISIS,BGP, Segment RoutingProven capacity in designing and implementing complex, high performance networks with multiple locations and applications, preferably service provider networks.Scripting knowledge is an added advantageEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.  If you are a qualified candidate and need assistance or an accommodation, please let us know by completing this form.
