The Mechanical Engineer is performs the planning, system design, system implementation, system maintenance and support. Leads small scale projects and the roll out of engineering initiatives. Assists with the development of engineering design standards, policies and procedures. Effectively interacts with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, construction management and regional operations teams, onsite support vendors and consultants on projects, policies and procedures. Assists in planning and directing day to day operations and strategic direction of delivery of either a construction project or delivery of operations for a Data Center facility.ResponsibilitiesEnsure Company SLA for reliability and performance is maintained at all timesEnergy management and sustainability of engineering infrastructure Evaluating, maintaining and modifying existing installed systems to ensure continuous reliability, performance and efficiencyWorking collaboratively with design engineers, technical facilities teams, operations engineers and other internal staff on the design, specification, installation, testing and setting to work of new systems (within a live and operational environment)Negotiating with suppliers and contractors concerning new and installed systemsAssisting site based Engineers with troubleshooting and problem solving. Point of contact in the event of an incident escalation, in depth fault finding and Root Cause AnalysisProviding technical advice and consultancy support to local TFM TeamsEnsure preventative maintenance is performed in accordance with company standards and procedures by performing regular audits and site inspections for critical systemsPromote and use the company CMMS, Maximo, for the proactive maintenance of critical engineering assetsUnderstanding and ensuring compliance with safe working systems, safety regulations and quality standards of both the company and the country in which work is undertakenProviding written and verbal instructions to installation contractors / sub-contractorsDocumenting installations, modifications to site equipment and auditing site documentation for accuracyHands-on approach to providing support to site based engineersWriting of method statements and risk assessments, regression plans, switching schedules, technical reports and program plansLead Data Centers Physicals and carry out Data Centers Mini-Physicals. Identified action items are actively closed out within each countrySign-off for FAT of new equipment/engineering assets and SAT/IST of SystemsEnsure TFM compliance, process and procedures for Incident Management, Customer Maintenance Requests (CMR), Internal Incident Reporting (IIR) and Customer Incident Report (CIR) processes are followed using Remedy reporting toolQualificationsEssentialTechnical degree or equivalent experience.
